Meet ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵIOS³ÉÈË’ Executive Team


Chris Kaufman

PRESIDENT

A native of the Baltimore-Washington Metro area, Chris has more than three decades of experience in the mechanical industry. Before taking the reign as President in 2018, Chris spent 21 years hands-on in the field and office working in increasingly responsible roles in sales, project management, and general management for NAC. He remains a member in good standing in the Steamfitters Local 602 since graduating in 1990. Under Chris’ servant and accessible leadership, NAC continues to increase its market share and profitability.

Chris holds an ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵIOS³ÉÈË Masters license in Maryland, District of Columbia, and Virginia. He currently serves as the Chair for the Industry Fund Trust Committee and will be serving on the board for the Mechanical Contractors Association of Metro Washington (MCAMW) in 2020.

Alan Knowlton

Vice President

Alan has been in the construction trade since graduating high school in 1982. He first joined and completed the Carpenters Local 1126 apprentice program and then entered the Steamfitters Local 602 apprentice program. Since 1992, Alan has served NAC coming up through the ranks from apprentice to his current position. Alan is involved with all facets of the company, with a focus on driving sales and growing the company’s client base.

Timothy Cornell

DIVISION MANAGER, SERVICE

Tim began his career in the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵIOS³ÉÈË industry in 1983 working for a ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵIOS³ÉÈË wholesaler.  He later joined the Steamfitters Local 602 apprenticeship program and became a journeyman, working in the field for 16 years before moving into a management position in the office.

Tim leads the heart of our service operations and has full responsibility for managing our service team – consisting of three service managers, three dispatchers, and approximately 50 field technicians. He works directly with our existing and prospective clients to meet their energy needs, along with expanding our company relationships.

Tim sits on the Steamfitters Local 602 Apprenticeship Committee and the Mechanical Contractors Association of Metro Washington (MCAMW) Service Bureau.

Deron Dupuis 

DIVISION MANAGER, SPECIAL PROJECTS

In early 2016, Deron joined NAC after years of partnership with the organization during his 18-year tenure as Senior Project Manager for Pepco Energy Services. 

With nearly three decades of senior-level project management experience, Deron uses his expertise to manage schedules, costs, and field productivity. Most importantly, he leads the communication between employees, clients, and subcontractors pulling everyone together to ensure no one lacks what they need for success.

Together with his team of 40 people, Deron has delivered projects ranging from chiller plants and roof-top replacements to $50M+ complex energy solutions. 

 

Insub Kim

DIRECTOR OF finance

Since joining NAC in December 2021, Insub oversees the day-today accounting and has overall responsibility for the company’s financial reporting and corporate accounting. Prior to NAC, he held leadership roles in nationally recognized electrical and mechanical construction companies for two decades.

Insub holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech.

Lance Righter

sales manager

Lance brings a successful history of more than three decades of experience in the field. Since 2003, his role at NAC has included working as a journeyman, field superintendent, and project development—building projects such as cogeneration, chilled water, hydronic and steam systems.  

In August 2021, he took on the new role of overseeing the sales division.

Bob Johnson

DIVISION MANAGER, CONTROLS

Bob started his mechanical career in 1981. He completed the Steamfitters Local 602 apprenticeship program in 1990, graduating at the top of his class. For ten years, he worked as a service technician and later moved into the office in a sales capacity.  

Bob was at the forefront of energy management and was a UA trained instructor for over 17 years. He taught classes such as Chillers, Basic Electricity, Controls, and Journeyman Training at the Steamfitters Local 602 Apprenticeship School in Maryland.

Bob joined the ranks of NAC in 2015, launching our Controls Division. He continues to work on expanding our energy management and building automation expertise to meet the needs of our client base.
